Anthropic's Claude for Teachers launch

Anthropic is giving Claude to every K-12 teacher for free, the same land grab Google and OpenAI are running. Nobody has built that vertical version for chemical distribution yet, and you do not need them to.

Anthropic launched Claude for Teachers this week. Free for verified teachers in grades K through 12 in the US, built around state academic standards, with lesson planning and grading tools baked in. It’s piloting in Detroit Public Schools as part of a study on educator wellbeing.

It’s a smart move. Give away the premium product to an entire profession, get millions of people fluent in your tool before their employer ever buys a seat.

So here’s the question I keep asking myself. Google, OpenAI, and Khan Academy are all doing versions of this for teachers. Who is doing it for chemical distributors? For specialty distributors managing regulatory documentation, safety data sheets, and customer specific formulations?

Nobody has built the vertical specific version of this for our industry yet. That’s either a gap or an opportunity, depending on how you look at it. The tools are general purpose enough right now that you do not need someone to build it for you. You can build your own workflows on top of Claude or ChatGPT today. Most companies in our space just have not started.
